One Component Membrane Forming Waterproofing by Crystallization

Dichtament DS2 is a one component waterproofing system, for concrete, brick, masonry or cement-bound surfaces. Dichtament DS2 is a combination of hydraulically setting pulverised material and selected polymers, which produces outstanding waterproof surfaces. Dichtament DS2 waterproofing system works on the principle of waterproofing by crystallization and forms an integral part of cement-substrates. The crystalline penetration takes place by osmosis and the treatment penetrates concrete even against hydrostatic pressure.

Dichtament DS2Imparts hydrophobic impermeability to water and dampness to coated surfaces. Coated surfaces are efflorescence-free, moss-resistant and resistant to fungus growth. Dichtament DS2 maintains the breathing properties of concrete. Due to excellent adhesion and thixotropic properties, vertical and inclined surfaces can be easily coated. It is resistant to alkalis and UV-rays. Dichtament DS2 provides outstanding waterproof and dampproof coat for concrete structures, brick and masonry works, cement renderings, plasters, Underground shafts and garages, retaining walls, tunnels, water tanks, roof slabs, sewers and basments etc. It can be used for resurfacing of bathrooms, cellar walls and floors exposed to dampness and attacks from moss and fungus. Foundation walls and footings subjected to ground moisture, water and salt efflorescence can also be well protected with coating of Dichtament DS2

Dichtament DS2 should be applied in two operations. A minimum coat thickness of 2 mm is recommended, when Dichtament DS2 is directly subjected to water pressure.  In case of sandwiched system the thickness of Dichtament DS2 can be between 1-2 mm depending upon actual site conditions. Subsequent coats may be applied when the previous coat is not completely dried out, subject to minimum of 1 hour. Care should be taken to protect the coating from being damaged during subsequent operations. The coating of Dichtament DS/DS2 must be cured by clean water to avoid rapid hardening for atleast 7 days.
