Dr.Aswath: The foundation of Dhammanagi Group was laid way back in 1950’s, Brief us about your journey with respect to real estate so far?
Purushothama Adiga: Construction and real estate was doing fine in Belgaum and Bailhongal in the early 80’s. Since the beginning of 50’s the family business alone was being run, with the change in baton and a new generation, our Chairman had the zeal to take his family name to greater heights. Vision changed, approaches changed, with new requirements in the housing sector and in the commercial sector in north Karnataka, he ventured into construction in the late 80’s. Mining has been a new venture, which we started in 2008 and has been a new business. We still are in the learning curve of the business.
Our Hospitality wing which began in 2006 has been one of the flag bearers in serving good food and providing good service to the visitors in Hubli. We have a 40 room Hotel in the heart of Hubli city. Our educational institutions are providing good education in one of the most backward taluk in the State, ie., Bailhongal. We took initiative in 2006 to start a school which transpired into starting Management Institute in the same town. Today, with more than 1500 students studying, we feel happy and humbled that we have been able to give back to the society in a small manner possible from our end.
Dr.Aswath: The group has diversified into many portfolios like Hospitality, Education Institutions, Mining and Software. Tell us about this versatility by your group?
Mr. Purushothama Adiga: Our Hospitality wing which began in 2006 has been one of the flag bearers in serving good food and providing good service to the visitors in Hubli. We have a 40 room Hotel in the heart of Hubli city.
Our educational institutions are providing good education in one of the most backward town in the State of Bailhongal. We took initiative in 2006 to start a school which we took forward to start a Management Institute in the same town. Today, with more than 1500 students studying, we feel happy and humbled that we have been able to give back to the society in a small manner possible from our end.
In 2008, we ventured into Software business which has been doing well. We are into Software testing and have employee strength of about 180.
Dr.Aswath: Your contribution to the real estate arena has been recognized. Can you elaborate on your corporate Philosophy?

Each Project is exclusively designed and customized which has helped us to establish ourselves as a company that provides quality construction and commitment towards timely delivery. As we continue to grow, our focus is to provide fine living without compromise on quality and value for money.

At Dhammanagi, no two properties are identical. There are no standard house models. Our interior designers who are working under the supervision of world's renowned architects are rewriting the style books. Dr.Aswath: You have many projects in both south and north of B’lore, can you explain us about these projects?
Mr. Purushothama Adiga: We started our journey in Bangalore in 2006 and till date we are happy that we have been able to complete good projects, though very few. All our customers have been happy for the fine touch we have given to all the projects and the ever lasting relationship we maintain with them.
Our Completed projects in the North of Bangalore are, Tulips Garden, a premium residential layout. This project has 3 phases having around 450 plots of minimum 2400 sft dimension spreading across 60 Acres. This project has

"Kings Ville", a luxury Villa Project near International Airport in a total area of 8.5 acres with more than 50 villas with beautiful amenities at the customers' disposal.
Sri Rudraksh Residency, luxury apartments with a super built up area of 71550 Sftwith 42 flats. The apartment is a high rise building with Ground plus floors. Dr.Aswath: What are your future plans and where do you see Dhammanagi Group five years from now?
Mr. Purushothama Adiga: In the near future of 2 years we have plans for another 5 residential projects. Currently we do not see a big jump of ours into commercial space. Residential layouts, apartments and villas are the main stake we want to depend upon. At the same time our concentration will be to provide a product which suffices to the middle class of our country. Budget apartments are another segment where we want to get into to provide as much as possible a good support to the lower class as part of our corporate social responsibility.
We have already started our contract wing. We have been able to compete with the larger brands in that segment and get few projects from Army Welfare Housing Organisation (AWHO) and Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprise (NICE) and few other organizations. We want to grow at a faster pace in this segment as we see lot of demand for providing Quality construction. We hope our training to the existing labour will not go waste and we can reap good results in the long run.
Probably by the end of the 4th year in the future, we want to play a big role in the infrastructure industry too by taking projects of housing, roads etc. from the Government.
Currently our employee strength is around 150, which we want to see with bigger projects and with atleast 1500 employees working together in bettering the wings of our Company.
